Window Cleaner 0403774516 Mt Claremont

A fig tree, thriving with no care or attention from anybody in Bold Park Bushland near the corner of Stephenson Hwy and Rochdale Rd, Mt Claremont.
This year's warmer August seems to have triggered an early greening and production of fruit.
New shoots reach for the year's new warmth.
The result of an accidental sowing from a bird or discarded fruit or the remnant of an ancient garden, I don't know.
I have observed this old tree for years from the variable comfort of my cars and it's great today, probably inspired by yesterday's bike ride, to actually stop mid-journey and record some images.

Eucalyptus Marginata. Mike Doran's Windy City Window Cleaning.

                                      The mighty Jarrah

This old photo from Dwellingup in the 20s shows that most South West Australian of trees, the jarrah in it's magnificent untouched form.
Sadly the jarrah is becoming increasingly rare in our city, making way for development and gardens.

I lived on this street when I was a kid and where these villas are today was an old sawmill. I am very pleased to see that the jarrah trees have been retained on this site.

On the same street is this property where the trees, in this case marri, have also been retained.

I love these remnant trees.
To all the private land owners who have rsisted the temptation to remove these links to a previous time I say thank you.

Royal Show 2011 Mike Doran's Windy City Window Cleaning.

The Royal Show is here again  .  .  .  .  Here are some photos I took last year.

Maybe try again next year boys.

The inimitable Fat Cat  .  .  .  When I was a kid I always believed he had stabbed Percy in the back.

Loved the display of historical photos.

Night time is always the right time.

This is like a scene from Night Gallery.

Just a few random images from 2010.
Hopefully I can get back again this year.

Black Swan With Cygnets. Perth, West Australia. Mike Doran's Windy City Window Cleaning.

           Herdsman Lake. Perth West Australia.

This is the location. I had hoped to find swans here but, on this particular day, there were none.

I see a mother swan with cygnets and decide to attempt a photo. I have positioned myself between the water and her and she wants to get to the water.

She is wary and suspicious but decides to make a break for it.

Here it is, the shot I was hoping to get and had all but given up on. Just goes to show.

She brings them right past me.

They waddle past my bike, danger over, and into the creek below.

Maybe I'll try again this year too.
