Black Swan With Cygnets. Perth, West Australia. Mike Doran's Windy City Window Cleaning.

           Herdsman Lake. Perth West Australia.

This is the location. I had hoped to find swans here but, on this particular day, there were none.

I see a mother swan with cygnets and decide to attempt a photo. I have positioned myself between the water and her and she wants to get to the water.

She is wary and suspicious but decides to make a break for it.

Here it is, the shot I was hoping to get and had all but given up on. Just goes to show.

She brings them right past me.

They waddle past my bike, danger over, and into the creek below.

Maybe I'll try again this year too.

Trigg Tripod Fishing. New Photos.

What the hell has Trigg Island Tripod Fishing got to do with Mike Doran's Windy City Windowcleaning ?
Good question. Best answer, I don't know.
I have been a participant in this most West Australian form of angling since 1983 and that's something I am very proud of.
If I can focus all the interest, ( and online hits ), in my passion and combine it with an advertisement for my business then perhaps I can navigate a way through the new media and get a form of advertising that is targeted and effective and allows me to pursue my interests.
Oh My God has anyone ever taken a better picture of The Trigg Island Bluehole ?
First fish in hand. I remember being very conscious of the changing weather conditions. I like how the water is falling off the reef in this photo.

Rainy Day Windowcleaner's Lay - Off.

These palms have been a big worry for years. They are too big for me to cut down and they are growing into the wires.
One man on a lonely platform. He shimmied up this wet and slippery trunk like a monkey.
The right man for the job.
An hour later the trees are gone.
Dropped to the ground, broken down and left for me to deal with. $ 350.00
A rainy day, no windowcleaning today. Look at those palms, they are way too high. When we moved in here 10 years ago my good friend, Tim Viljoen, told me they were already too high and I agreed. There is a double ring on the doorbell and a man asks me if I want my palms cut down. Is it as obvious as that ? I have been wondering how to remove those palms for weeks now so when he offers to drop them to the ground and break them up for $350.00 he is on.
A group of seven workers arrives and six stand on my porch out of the rain while one shimmies up the first palm and systematically destroys it.
Dropped to the ground, broken down and left is the deal and its a good one. I am more than capable of stacking the pieces, it's the high work I can't do.

Chasing work with an immediate turnaround is something I admire and I resolve to do more of it in my windowcleaning round. An offer to do the work immediately, even a cold-call knock on a stranger's door can result in a timely offer of work being accepted.
Thanks cold-caller you remind me of what self employment is all about.

Tripod Fishing Trigg Island W.A.

Trigg Island-caught tailor 2011.

Fun and games   .  .  .  .  Don't believe the naysayers, this is as safe as houses.

Freezing gardie baits individually between layers of Gladwrap.

I've never been sure who is in this photo. Does anyone know ?
I believe that the two in the boat are Rob Davis and the late Rick Allen.

Here are some videos I've recently made with the new Go Pro

"Tripod Fishing " by Angie66 | RedBubble

"Tripod Fishing " by Angie66 | RedBubble:
I was very pleased to see this photo published the other day. It was taken by a local photographer called Angie 66. Check out her portfolio, she has included some great Trigg images and I like her work very much.
Angie66, please don't be angry with me stealing your work. I'm trying to generate some window cleaning business here.

The sum total catch of that perilous trip. One half reasonable skippy with a few king prawns I caught diving in the lower Swan River the night before.
