Wary Pelican Minim Cove Jetty Mosman Park.
I love this place. The river is at its cleanest here. Strong tides race through this narrow section and can create quite dangerous conditions for swimmers at times.
He's a wary fellow and won't let me take the exact shot I want.

Point Walter circa 1900

Wonderful image of iconic Point Walter from over a century ago.

Large tuarts now, sadly long gone.
Different today yet the essential quality and feel of the place is unmistakeable.

The photo comes from An Old Look At Trees, a local publication by Robert Powell and Jane Emberson.

Eucalyptus Marginata. Mike Doran's Windy City Window Cleaning.

                                      The mighty Jarrah

This old photo from Dwellingup in the 20s shows that most South West Australian of trees, the jarrah in it's magnificent untouched form.
Sadly the jarrah is becoming increasingly rare in our city, making way for development and gardens.

I lived on this street when I was a kid and where these villas are today was an old sawmill. I am very pleased to see that the jarrah trees have been retained on this site.

On the same street is this property where the trees, in this case marri, have also been retained.

I love these remnant trees.
To all the private land owners who have rsisted the temptation to remove these links to a previous time I say thank you.
